Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 29 June 2026

Welcome

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the Aurelia Storyhouse website and the professional services we provide. By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

Our Services

Aurelia Storyhouse provides bespoke memoir writing, life story interviews, ghostwriting, editorial services, legacy publishing guidance and related literary services. Each project is individually tailored to the client.

Consultations

Initial consultations are provided to discuss your project and determine whether our services are suitable for your needs. Submitting an enquiry does not create a contractual relationship.

Quotations & Fees

Every project is individually priced based on its scope and complexity. A written quotation will be provided before work begins. Work will only commence once both parties have agreed to the proposal and any required deposit has been received.

Payments

Payment schedules will be agreed before the project begins. Invoices should be paid by the due date stated. Late payment may result in work being paused until payment has been received.

Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

Provide accurate information. Attend scheduled interviews where applicable. Review drafts within a reasonable timeframe. Notify us promptly of requested amendments.

Delays in providing information may affect project timelines.

Intellectual Property

The client retains ownership of all personal stories, memories, recordings, photographs, documents and other source materials supplied to Aurelia Storyhouse.

All interview notes, research, drafts, manuscripts, editorial work and other written materials created by Aurelia Storyhouse in the course of providing its services remain the intellectual property of Aurelia Storyhouse until all fees due under the relevant Client Agreement have been paid in full.

Copyright in the completed manuscript shall transfer to the client only upon full payment of all outstanding fees, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Where a project is cancelled, suspended or abandoned before completion, or where full payment is not received, Aurelia Storyhouse shall retain all intellectual property rights and copyright in any work created up to that point. The client shall not reproduce, publish, distribute, adapt, exploit or otherwise use that work without the prior written consent of Aurelia Storyhouse.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the client's original life experiences, memories or source materials, which remain the property of the client at all times.

Confidentiality

Client confidentiality is fundamental to our work. Personal information, interviews and manuscript content will not be disclosed to third parties without permission unless required by law.

Editorial Discretion

Aurelia Storyhouse provides professional editorial advice while respecting the client's voice and intentions. Final approval of the manuscript remains with the client.

Cancellations

Either party may cancel a project before work has commenced. Where work has already been completed, Aurelia Storyhouse reserves the right to invoice for work undertaken up to the date of cancellation. Deposits may be non-refundable where time has already been allocated to the project.

Limitation of Liability

While every effort is made to provide accurate, professional and high-quality services, Aurelia Storyhouse shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of this website or our services.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

Website Content

All text, branding, logos and website content remain the intellectual property of Aurelia Storyhouse unless otherwise stated. Content may not be reproduced without written permission.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
